Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
 
The Senior System Administrator fills a lead technical position responsible for, but not limited to, configuration, implementation, monitoring and support of Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, hardware, virtualization, storage, networking, and all other production and enterprise solutions; improve processes through automation and scripting; vulnerability detection and remediation; communication with internal customers and other technical and engineering teams; mentoring other System engineers; generating and improving process and documentation adhering to industry best practices and internal standards; receiving ticket escalations and driving issues to resolution. 

  • Ensure all enterprise environments, especially mission-critical systems and applications, are monitored, secure, available and performing optimally. Lead and take ownership of all issues, demonstrate a sense of urgency, and escalate to management as appropriate. Drive production issues to resolution.
  • Serve as a hands-on senior lead and technical mentor. Assist other System administrators and receive technical escalations. Assist the in managing day-to-day operations and planning.
  • Analyze all environments. Recommend and implement improvemnts by gathering requirements and working in a methodical fashion. Recommend, plan and execute projects, collaborating with other engineering teams.
  • Review and revise policies, procedures and standards, while adhering to best practices and internal standards and requirements. Continuously investigate and implement ways to safely and securely automate, streamline and otherwise improve process.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Minimum four (4) to six (6) years’ related experience providing technical support in a Technology Support environment with an additional (minimum) four (4) years' systems administration or technical experience.

Skills/Knowledge:
 
(Include licenses, registrations or special skills, such as typing, programming languages, etc., required to perform the job.) Must have administrator level of experience managing various technologies including Windows Server and Linux.  Strong skills in TCP/IP networking and security are required.
 
  • Scripting and automation (Python, Powershell, etc.)
  • Experience managing/troubleshooting servers in remote locations as well as local
  • Cloud experience with Azure/AWS with installing, configuring, and monitoring servers and services
  • HyperV, Nutanix, and VMWare experience
  • Experience identifying issues and determining root cause via a consistent, logical approach
  • Server build and imaging processes; patch procedures (Ivanti, WDS, etc)
  • Strong communications skills
  • Ability and willingness to be on-call and respond to emergencies


    Working Conditions:

    • Travel between various Bank offices required
    • Off-hours support as needed. On-site support as needed
