Job Description

The Principal Developer will be a technical leader in the planning, design and development of Eastern’s evolving Salesforce.com platforms.  The Principal Developer will design, code, test and implement new Salesforce solutions to meet business objectives.  As an experienced, senior-level Technology professional, the Principal Developer will define Salesforce development, testing and deployment standards and best practices and will leverage product experience to play a consultative role with our business users to help best match desired outcomes with technical capabilities.   The Principal Developer will help direct other technical resources to design, develop and deliver various platform deliverables and contribute to management, maintenance and support best practices for the enterprise.
 
Responsibilities
  • Develop logical, high quality code which meets functional specifications along with technical requirements for reusability, maintainability, and scalability when appropriate.
     
  • Work closely with constituents at all levels throughout the organization to identify opportunities to maximize the bank’s investment in the Salesforce.com platform.  Interact directly with managers and end users as necessary to analyze objectives and capability requirements, including specifications for user interfaces, customized applications, integrations, and interactions with Salesforce instances.
     
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the Salesforce platform. Recommend Eastern’s Salesforce development standards and best practices.  Provide mentoring and technical guidance to Technology team members and business line staff involved in the development, management and support of the Salesforce platform.
     
  • Manage daily support and maintenance of internal Salesforce instance, and conduct long-term improvement operations to ensure compatibility with evolving mission requirements.
     
  • Work with Technology and business line partners to manage the process of evaluating, communicating, testing, resolving issues and deploying multiple Salesforce.com platform upgrades/releases as needed.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience
  • 8+ years IT experience and at least 4+ years of experience in Salesforce.com architecture, design, and development
  • 4+ years Visualforce and Apex classes and triggers by following best coding practices
  • Experience using Salesforce data tools (Data Loader, Workbench, Eclipse Force.com or equivalent IDE)
  • Proven experience with technologies integral to Salesforce.com including: HTML/XHTML,  Javascript, AJAX, SQL, SOAP, REST, JSON, Apex, SOQL.
  • Previous systems integration experience and experience integrating Salesforce with 3rd party system using web services and app exchange apps a plus
  • Hands on experience in Salesforce CRM functionality, lightning components and customizations
  • Experience setting up Salesforce Web to lead, Web to case, customer portal, force.com sites a plus
  • Salesforce Developer Certification a plus
  • Salesforce Advanced Developer Certification a plus
Skills/Knowledge
  • Multiple years of experience in a progressive technology environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to effectively research and communicate complex technical issues and resolve problems at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the SDLC and agile methodologies.
  • Must have both broad business and technical understanding to formulate and implement design and development standards, administrative standards and the internal evolution roadmap for the Salesforce platform.
  • Self-directed and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change with limited notice.
