Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manages and coordinates the operational activities for the wire transfer products.
  • Provides high levels of quality service and effective operations support for all internal and external customers.
  • Ensures all wire transactions from all channels, SWIFT messages, wire investigation/research, and reconciliations are done in a complete and timely manner in line with all policies and procedures, established service levels, as well as within audit and compliance requirements.
  • Manages all aspects of the wire department, including underlying systems, and operational relationship between internal business lines, correspondent banks and external customers (as needed).
  • Designs, assigns, and prioritizes processes / activities while measuring and analyzing departmental benchmarks. Develops and maintains key metrics to drive visibility into service level agreements, volumes, staffing and automation.
  • Recommends, manages and implements projects, system upgrades or new features, automation of daily activity relating to the department to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Overseas the daily operations of all aspects of domestic and foreign US dollar and foreign currency wire transfer transactions, foreign drafts, sweep’s, scheduled wires, draw-down and fraud activity.
  • Ensures various deadlines internally and externally are met. Coordinates with various internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues and ensure timely processing of customer transactions. Ensures the internal and external account reconciliations are performed according to customer schedules and monthly reconciliations are completed within two weeks after statement cut. Ensures activity is balanced daily as necessary.
  • Ensures standard operating procedures are kept up to date, accurate and followed by staff. Actively motivates department staff, establishes production level standards and provides training and guidance to staff.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of operation functions, systems, policies and procedures for the assigned area
  • In-depth understanding and practical application of applicable regulations

  • Well-developed customer relations skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Thorough knowledge of banking operations
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Eight to ten years of operations experience in the financial services industry
  • Four or more years of supervisory/management experience
