Job Description

Minimize risk to the Bank in regard to State and Federal regulations.
  • Responsible for managing the compliance in Loan Operations and CIS for the state and federal regulations and the Investor portfolio.
  • Ensure Loan Operations and CIS procedures are up to date with all regulations and guidelines to minimize all potential risk exposure.
  • Recommend enhancements to current processes and procedures to management in order to mitigate risk to the Bank.
  • Remains informed of changes to the regulations and makes recommendations to management to comply with the regulations.
  • Works with Compliance, Risk Review and Internal Audit staff for all procedure and process reviews.
  • Supports current Loan Operations and CIS Compliance Officer and serve as back up.
  • Review and sign off on all Investor remittances and reconciliations.
 
Responsible for quality control of all maintenance performed on consumer, commercial and mortgage portfolio as well as customer records within the Loan Operations and CIS department. 
  • Ensure work from prior day is quality controlled, signed off on and all issues were reported to managers/supervisors for correction.
  • Utilize all available systems to identify departments/users processes to catch human errors.
  • Work with department units on efficiencies for the QC process.
Will work with limited supervision and is expected to develop and maintain strong working relationships within the department as well as bank departments.
  • Work with department units on completeing all self audits and compliance reviews in a timely manner and remitting them in a timely manner.
  • Work with other bank department compliance area’s to develop and maintain the internal relationships with them.
Is responsible for employment decisions for staff members. 
  • Review performances; make salary recommendations and recommendations with regard to promotions and/or terminations
  • Ensure adequate staffing and training for maximum performance of personnel.
  • Controls staff scheduling including overtime, vacation time and personal days.
  • Provides counseling to employees as needed.
  • Periodic review of methods, procedures and systems to make daily operations more efficient.

Job Requirements

  • Mitigate risk to the Bank by reviewing and analyzing exception condition and regulatory compliance with regard to the loans we service.
  • Must be able to balance multiple projects and initiatives with varying degrees of complexity, risk and importance.
  • Must work independently to research, interpret and evaluate systems and loan data to recommend resolutions and necessary adjustments to more complex operational issues.
 
REQUIREMENTS:  (Describe the typical minimum requirements to perform the job.)
       
Education and Experience (Indicate the minimum formal education and experience the job requires.  Note:  The majority of jobs do not require a college degree as a minimum requirement.)
•         Required knowledge of Federal and State regulations that impact the Loan Operations and CIS department.
•         Investor knowledge of remittance and reconciliations for FNMA and FHLMC.
 
Skills/Knowledge (Include licenses, registrations or special skills, such as typing, programming languages, etc., required to perform the job.) 
  • Excellent analytical skills and use of sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of PC’s, computers, familiarity with business machines (i.e. adding machines, PC skills) 
  •  Must have proven loan and accounting knowledge including, but not limited to, investor reporting, account reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, billing receivables, accruals, modifications, must be able to interpret and follow loan notes, bills/statements and bank policies and procedures.
