Job Description

This position is an independent contributor, hands-on position in the marketing department, reporting to SVP Advertising & Brand Management.  This role will be responsible for managing and executing the marketing research & analysis agenda, to elevate and optimize our marketing communications. This role will work with marketing partners to identify their needs, then find, organize and analyze data to provide actionable recommendations.  Majority of the work will be hands on data gathering, analysis, research design and reporting, supplemented with agency and research vendor partners for specialized needs.
•        Develop, document, implement, and manage streamlined process for measuring & optimizing advertising campaign performance.
•        Find, cleanse, qualify and organize data from various sources. Construct and manipulate large datasets to support analyses using a variety of analytics and visualization tools.
•        Mine business, customer and research data to provide product and customer insight and campaign ROI.
•        Provide consumer insight and actionable information to inform marketing decisions.
•        Work with advertising agency partner to identify new ways to measure and optimize campaign performance e.g., marketing attribution models.
•        Work with marketing partners to identify business needs and translate into research objectives.  Recommend and implement appropriate research solutions-including vendor selection- to meet these business needs.
•        Effectively communicate findings in reports, power point presentations & other media.
•        Provide an informed and objective perspective; be seen as a trusted, authoritative subject matter expert.
•        Develop strong working relationships with marketing, technology, finance and business partners.
Education and Experience
•        Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science), or Business Admin with a quantitative or marketing research major.
•        4-6 years’ experience in market research & analysis in roles with hand on experience, and support of marketing or business partners. 
•        Financial services experience preferred, or experience in other regulated industry.

•        Sound mix of marketing research, analytics, project management and business acumen. 

Job Requirements

•        Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills including experience:
o   Translating business needs into research strategies.
o   Formulating business hypothesis then test and refine based on findings.
o   Turning insights into data-based recommendations that solve business needs.
•        Proven ability to work independently and deliver results; strong organizational and time-management skills, including:
o   Strong project leadership, management and forward-planning.
o   Highly detail and process oriented.
•        Excellent written, oral and presentation skills, including ability to communicate influence and reason effectively with agency, business and technology partners.
•        Strong hands on experience of marketing campaign measurement, including marketing attribution and marketing mix models. (Mix of B2C and B2B preferred.)
•        Demonstrated market research experience including:
o   Broad experience in brand, advertising, digital and direct qualitative and quantitative methodologies and techniques.
o   Solid knowledge of data collection methods and vendors (polls, focus groups, surveys, online bulletin boards).
o   Hands on experience in sourcing and managing vendors to deliver business needs.
o   Proficient marketing research project management, including hands-on data analysis, interpretation, survey design, implementation and ability to identify key learnings.
•        Strong technical proficiency including:
o   Demonstrated ability to find, qualify, cleanse and blend data from various sources.
o   Ability to creatively assess and leverage available data sources to infer and to indirectly correlate relevant findings.
o   Fluency in SQL or similar relational database tools for large dataset extraction and manipulation. 
o   Proficiency with SAS, R, Python or other programing languages; data visualization tools such as tableau, and advanced excel tools such as pivot tables.
o   Demonstrated experience in Google Analytics and website tagging.
