Job Description

The Digital Systems Engineer role is part of the Digital Channels Solutions team within the Technology division. This position will report to the Digital Solutions Architect. Digital systems include online and mobile banking, customer origination, ATM's, and Website.   
  • Production and application support
    • Analysis of application issues, resolution ownership and ability to understand and document root cause
    • Knowledge and usage of using various application monitoring tools such as New Relic and ELK to quickly assess logs and correlate observations and findings
    • Monitor and understand system performance, abnormalities and articulate correlations
    • Use of administrative tools for internal user setup/ maintenance, end customer emulation and issue analysis, and generation of reports for various departments
    • Manage production application and mobile deployments by defining the tasks, sequence and owners to ensure the smooth process of upgrade process.
    • Act as scrum master / owner for application bug fix and performance squad
  • System engineering
    • Work with internal teams to define and test job configurations and process flows 
    • Builds automation jobs to optimize manual processes
    • Creates and manages KPI dashboards and reports  
    • Define, build, and monitor alerting process definitions 
    • Basic knowledge on SCOM, JAMS, and Linux commands to understand job process, submission and permissions
    • Write and run basic SQL queries for reporting, data migrations, validation, and data status analysis. Ability to validate and confirm the impact of the database queries shared by vendors. Understand the data download and upload process.
  • Solution architecture  
    • Ability to assess changes and impacts proposed on application, infrastructure, and features 
    • Researches and outlines functional and technical / infrastructure gaps, propose different options/ solutions with pros/ cons and recommendation for best possible option, and implement solutions
    • Work with vendors and internal development partners to manage business and technical requirements, scope change impacts, solution implemention and coordination of testing
    • Knowledge in defining, documenting and adhering to process and agile methods

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in either a Technical Engineering disipline, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent combination of training and experience. A minimum of 3 years related experience.
  • Solution and technical Infosys Finacle digital channel experience preferred
  • Practical IT Solution Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience or other similar methods
  • Expertise and/or deep understanding of the following technologies: C++, Java/J2EE, including SOAP, RESTful, .NET and related technology (JSON, XML, etc), SQL
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructures, network architecture and application development methodologies plus a strong understanding of SOA, Web Services and object-oriented analysis and design.
  • Comprehensive understanding of integration requirements of solution architectural alternatives, as well as experience in implementing integrations.
  • Channel Distribution Marketing Applications (SMS, Push Notifications, etc.)
  • Familiar with each of the various UML forms and has expertise in the development of use cases, class diagrams, and state diagrams, preparing Business Requirements Documents (BRD’s), conducting Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions, preforming GAP analysis, designing data flow diagrams (DFD’s), reading entity relationship diagrams (ERD’s)
  • Complete understanding of database design and how data is stored, retrieved, shared with sources to optimize solution achitectures
  • Knowledge and experience with Business Process Management and Software Design
  • Business Analysis Training and/or equivalent experience (BSC, IIBA, etc.)
  • Strong understanding and related working experience with digital channels technologies, tools, development and integration methodologies
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, teamwork, facilitation and negotiation; strong leadership skills; and excellent analytical and technical skills.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Suite, Visio, Project or Project Server, SQL, Business Objects, SharePoint
