The Tax Director is primarily responsible for the tax provision, tax compliance, tax planning and research, and monitoring tax-credit investments. The Director will work closely with the outside tax accountants and taxing authorities as necessary.  

This position is responsible for understanding and accounting for income taxes, as well as the understanding the requirements for compliance reporting.  The Tax Director functions with limited directions and makes independent recommendations for changes to the systems and processes including tax automation systems.

Major Responsibilities include:

1.Preparation of the Tax Provision in Accordance with ASC 740

2.Review the U.S. Federal and State Income Tax Returns Prepared by Outside Tax Accountants
a.Ensure all income tax extensions and returns are filed timely
b.Oversee the information request list provided by outside tax accountants
c.Make quarterly estimated tax payments in a timely manner
d.Respond to inquiries, including but not limited to examinations, from various tax jurisdictions

3.Review Tax-Credit Investments
a.Ensure the Company can utilize tax credits
b.Review accounting treatment
c.Monitor K-1s

4.Provide Federal and State Income Tax Planning and Analysis

5.Assist with Month-End Closing and Quarterly Financial Reporting as Needed

Job Requirements

Education and Experience 

•Bachelor's degree in accounting
•8 years of job-related experience.
•CPA required
•Master’s degree in taxation desirable


•Strong technical tax accounting skills
•Excellent organizational skills, problem solving and analytical skills
•Ability to effectively manage vendor relationships
•Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
