Job Description

The UX Product Designer uses human-centered design principles to create and ship new, innovative digital product experience

As a UX Product Designer, you will be responsible for overseeing every step of the design process. This includes working closely with product and technology partners during the discover and define phases to gather and translate data and product requirements, designing wireframes and high fidelity prototypes based on those requirements, conducting usability testing and analyzing the results, meeting with stakeholders to demo the feature before handing it off to developers, and finally, delivering an all-encompassing feature flow that explicitly lays out every possible step of the process.



Leadership & Strategy 

•       Oversee design plan and scope for UX projects

•       Manage projects, stakeholder communication, and work closely with vendors and development partners to complete project requirements

•       Conduct vendor analysis and work closely with selected vendor through onboarding process, price negotiation, and contracting  

•       Think strategically from a cost-savings perspective, leveraging existing tools and resources to accomplish tasks

•       Provide UX leadership and combine data, research, user insights and best practices to create innovative and effective brand experiences 

•       Develop and own an efficient design process that is constantly being improved upon

UX Design Deliverables 

  • Conduct user research, usability studies, and A/B testing to clarify business challenges, identify user needs, motivations and behaviors as well as opportunities for improved user engagement.
  • Use design thinking and utilize qualitative and quantitative to inform decision-making
  • Simplify complex processes and translate them into elegant user interfaces
  • Deliver best-in-class user experiences in a fast-paced agile environment through site maps, user flows, wireframes, user journeys, and prototypes.
  • Create and maintain product and design artifacts to ensure that designs and user interfaces communicate consistent, effective experiences and messages across all platforms, and are in alignment with core site and branding strategy
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented
  • Produce creative assets such as logos, icons, email templates, video content, and other visual assets on an as-needed basis

 Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and team members to brainstorm new products, features and functionalities that enhance our mobile and web experiences
  • Efficiently work with product, compliance, and technology teams within the organization to gather feature requirements 
  • Partner closely with product owners to translate business requirements into elegant but practical designs that meet user needs 
  • Work with vendors to implement necessary changes and accomplish tasks
  • Work closely with the Marketing team for brand alignment
  • Act as a company-wide design resource for various projects on an as-needed basis 

 Under limited guidance and direction, the Digital Banking Senior UX Product Designer uses user-centered design principles to create and ship new, innovative digital product experiences. Must be able to put together product UX design plans outlining options with recommendations to present to the Digital Banking Director, Digital Banking Product Manager and influence Key Stakeholders (including Legal and Compliance) for approval.


Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of product design experience in the digital world
  • 2 years of experience with agile development methodologies
  • Ability to depict complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate SBU/department(s) on the UX product design process.

  • Ability to make quick and challenging decisions on a daily basis.

  • Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders through strong leadership skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to lead the team to push the solution and progress.

  • A highly experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty or ambiguity.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Startup experience and/or large company digital product design experience
  • Experience in a product group focusing on web and mobile applications

Skills/Knowledge

  • Expert in Sketch and online user testing and prototyping apps

  • Ability to deliver creative assets: proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Video Editing Software

  • Ability to create high-fidelity prototypes 

  • Ability to conduct usability testing, analyze results, and quickly iterate

  • An understanding of how the technology behind web applications work and the ability to know when to design within technology limits and when to push the limits for user delight

  • Experience leading customer journey mapping sessions, creating artifacts, outlining and managing the jobs to be done
